Understanding Men's Health Issues in Modern Society
In today's fast-paced world, the pressure on individuals has greatly increased, leading to heightened stress levels and a deteriorating living environment. For men, who often bear the primary responsibilities of their families, health problems are becoming more prominent, particularly regarding sexual health disorders.
Sexual Dysfunction: An Overview
Sexual dysfunction encompasses a range of issues affecting men, including erectile dysfunction (ED), premature ejaculation, reduced libido, and anejaculation. Among these, erectile dysfunction is the most common and impactful condition.
Statistics indicate that approximately 10% of men in China experience some form of sexual dysfunction, with the prevalence rising to 30%-50% among adults over 40. This condition is often closely related to significant health issues such as hypertension, ischemic heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, and diabetes. Notably, around 15% of men with hypertension may experience erectile dysfunction, and the incidence of complete erectile dysfunction among heart disease patients can reach 39%.
Environmental Factors Affecting Fertility
Infertility poses a considerable challenge, with approximately 10%-15% of married couples in China facing this issue. Alarmingly, the male factor accounts for nearly half of these cases. Various environmental pollutants have been identified as primary causes of male infertility. Contaminated air and unsafe drinking water, along with food containing pesticides and growth hormones, significantly affect sperm quality. Furthermore, exposure to pollutants from home renovations, radiation from microwaves and computers, and high-temperature environments can also contribute to male infertility.
Addressing these health concerns is critical for improving men’s overall wellbeing and family health. It is essential for men to seek medical advice and consider lifestyle changes to mitigate the impacts of stress and environmental factors. Regular health check-ups and fostering a healthier environment can play a vital role in combating sexual dysfunction and infertility.
